The best known actress of the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema and one of the most beautiful women of her time, María Félix’s personal life was even more interesting than that of the characters that she played on the silver screen. She married several times – to a famous songwriter, to legendary actor Jorge Negrete and to a successful French businessman – and she was always perceived as a femme fatale. At a time when women were expected to be docile, she pushed the boundaries and kept to herself the control of her own personal and professional life.
